Redistricting Seminar Will Focus on Constitutional Challenges to Partisan Gerrymandering
On Friday, Dec. 2nd a seminar will be held at the State House hosted by the Indiana Coalition for Independent Redistricting. The focus this year will be efforts by plaintiffs in Wisconsin and North Carolina to challenge their states' district maps on the grounds that they violate voters' 1st and 14th Amendment rights to freedom of speech and due process. If successful, these lawsuits would make partisan gerrymandering illegal. Read more and register to attend.
From November 5 to December 12 "We Are All Connected," an art exhibit at West Lafayette Public Library (Elm and Walnut Rooms) sponsored by Indiana Voices of Women and Purdue Black Cultural Center partnering with Purdue Latina Center, Purdue Native American Educational and Cultural Center, Purdue Asian American and Asian Resource Cultural Center. All events are open to the public.
Check the WLPL calendar for times and locations of events.
The program airs Sundays at 2:00pm and Mondays at 3:00pm (EDT). Programs are archived online a few days after the original broadcast.
