Monday, September 17, 2007	9 am-3 pm	Purdue University	Constitution Day - Voter Registration. League members will be registering voters at this event in Stewart Center at Purdue University
Tuesday, September 25, 2007	7-8:30 p.m.	Tippecanoe Public Library 627 South St. Lafayette, IN 47901	Immigration Reform Meeting. League members will meet to gain information and insight into the challenge of immigration reform.
Tuesday, October 09, 2007	7-8:30 pm	Tippecanoe County Office Building 20 North Third Street Lafayette, IN 47901	Candidate Forum - Lafayette City Council. The public is invited to hear the candidates for the Lafayette City Council. Co-Sponsored with WALLA.
Wednesday, October 17, 2007	7-8:30	Tippecanoe Public Library 627 South St. Lafayette, IN 47901	Candidate Forum - West Lafayette City Council. The public is invited to hear the candidates for the West Lafayette City Council. Co-Sponsored with WALLA.
Wednesday, October 24, 2007	11:45 A.M.-1:00 pm	Big Four Depot 200 North Second Street Lafayette, IN 47901	Wabash River Corridor Meeting. The public is invited to an update and discussion about exciting Wabash River Corridor initiatives that are under way. Wabash River Enhancement Board President KD Benson and Executive Director Stan Lambert will give the update. Contact John Corey (567-4558) or Liz Solberg (743-5955) to order an Arni's Junior Salad @$4.00 or bring your own brown bag. Drinks provided.
Thursday, October 25, 2007	7-8:30 p.m.	County Office Building 20 North Third Street Lafayette, IN 47901	Vote Centers Public Forum. The public is invited to learn what a Vote Center is and how having Vote Center will change the way they vote. This Forum is co-sponsored with WBAA. Moderator: Wayne Pratt; Panelists: Linda Phillips, Heather Maddox, Dave Williams, and Joanne Evers

Tuesday, February 19, 2008			League Program Planning Meeting. League members will plan their program and positions for the coming year.
Monday, February 25, 2008	7 pm	Ivy Tech Auditorium	Juvenile Justice Youth Center Forum. Do we NEED a Juvenile Justice Youth Center? Can we afford to have it? Can we afford not to have it? Has any progress been made? Good questions! Hear our local experts discuss these topics at the Juvenile Justice Youth Center Forum on Monday, February 25 at 7pm in the County Commissioner Room. The panel will include: Judge Loretta Rush Rebecca Humphrey, Consultant for the Youth Center Bill Glick, Indiana Juvenile Justice Task Force Sheriff Tracey Brown K D Benson, County Commissioner Rick Crawley, CEO, Wabash Valley Hospital The panel will give presentations and take questions from the audience using the League format.
Tuesday, March 18, 2008	1:15-2:30 pm	Morton Community Center	WALLA (Wabash Area Lifelong Learning Association) Class on Election Issues. There will be four class sessions offered. Sign-up for the course is required through WALLA. 3/18 The Electoral College, Prof. Will McLuchlan 3/20 The Potential for Voter Fraud and the Need for Voter IDs, Linda Phillips, Heather Maddox, Will McLauchlan 3/25 Reliability of Voting Machines, Prof. Chris Clifton 3/27 Poll Workers: What They Do and How they Are Trained, Linda Phillips, Heather Maddox, Joanne Evers
Tuesday, April 29, 2008	7-8:30 pm	Ivy Tech, Ivy Hall	Town Hall Forum on Health Care Reform. The public is invited to the town hall forum on health care reform presented by Hoosiers for a Commonsense Health Plan. Karen and Robert Stone of the Monroe County League are organizers of this event. Dr. Stone is State Coordinator of the Indiana Chapter of Physicians for a National Health Plan, and Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine of the Indiana University School of Medicine. Questions that the organizers have been addressing include: What can be done about the rising health care costs? How can the growing numbers of Hoosiers with no health insurance or inadequate health insurance be served? What about the uneven distribution of quality health care within the state? How can Hoosiers get higher quality healthcare for their money? What do we want and what are we willing to pay for? This forum will provide opportunity for citizens in this area of the state to have a voice in the healthcare discussions and debate. (Note: This Forum was rescheduled from March due to snow.)
Tuesday, May 13, 2008	TBA	Tippecanoe County Public Library, Klondike Branch	League of Women Voters of Greater Lafayette Annual Meeting. This meeting offers an opportunity for members to enjoy fellowship, be inspired, and help make important League decisions. The speaker will be Gail Pebworth, dynamic leader of the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County and LWV State Board Member. Please sign up for the meeting here (so we can estimate food).
